We're lucky around here… quite a few VPR staffers are terrific cooks. Fabulous smells often emanate from our kitchenette, and we do a lot of recipe swapping and taste testing! We love to cook for one another, and we'll use this page to showcase some of our favorite recipes, as well as the stories and traditions behind them.
Why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we
are all only five minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or
night! This can serve two if you want to feel slightly more virtuous.
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons (or more!) chocolate chips
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large VPR coffee mug
Add dry ingredients to your VPR Artist Mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add chocolate chips and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put the mug in the microwave and cook for three minutes on high. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but do not be alarmed! Allow to cool a little before tipping it out onto a plate.
Serve with ice cream, whipped cream, or by itself!
