Vermont Public is proud to be a non-profit, community-funded organization. More than 90% of Vermont Public's funding comes from our local community via individual memberships and philanthropic giving as well as businesses and organizations.

Our community-supported business model allows Vermont Public to provide free access to fact-driven journalism. That support means that editorial independence is built in from the start. We are accountable only to you. Member support lets Vermont Public report without fear or favor.

But our mission goes beyond just the news. We also believe in the power of high-quality entertainment and music to inspire, educate and bring people together. Your support helps produce engaging programs that spark curiosity, foster understanding, and create shared cultural experiences.

Public media is free for anyone to use and enjoy. Together, we can ensure that everyone in our community has access to the information and entertainment they deserve.

Membership

Our primary source of funding — over half!— comes from more than 40,000 members making donations in all amounts. Contributions from individual listeners like you keep Vermont Public strong and independent, and are a vital source of funding for our programs.

A donation in any amount makes you a member of Vermont Public, but we suggest a base donation of $60 a year. That giving level will grant you access to Vermont Public Passport, one of our favorite member benefits!

Become a member today by making a gift online, by calling 802-654-3665, or by mailing a check to:

Sustaining Membership
A Sustaining Membership is a monthly gift that you pay in a convenient, ongoing way. Each month, your gift will be automatically transferred from your bank account, credit card or debit card in the amount of your choice.
Your Sustaining Membership will automatically continue unless you choose to cancel or change it.

You can increase, decrease or stop your donation at any time by emailing us at membership@vermontpublic.org or by calling 802-654-3665.

Sustainers are crucial to providing an ongoing base of community support that we can rely on, so you can continue to rely on Vermont Public. Your automatic monthly contribution is easy and convenient for you, provides reliable support for the services you count on and reduces on-air fundraising. It also drastically reduces administrative costs (think paper and postage!), so more of your contribution goes into the programming you love.

Member Benefits
As a Vermont Public Member, you’re making a difference in your community by providing access to public media for audiences across our region. To show our appreciation, our members have access to a wide range of benefits:

  • Access to Vermont Public Passport - Think your favorite streaming service, but for PBS content! Watch your favorite shows anytime, anywhere. (Must donate at least $60 a year, or have a $5 or more a month sustaining membership to qualify)
  • A Members-only newsletter with station news, special offers, stories and upcoming events.
  • Access to member-exclusive events.
  • Vermont Public branded thank-you gifts (sustaining members can receive a gift annually by contacting our membership team).

Matching Gifts
Double the impact of your donation! As a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Vermont Public is eligible for many employers' matching gift programs. Does your company match charitable donations? Click here to find out.
