Bill McGlaughlin's in-depth knowledge of and deep passion for classical music, along with his enthusiasm, imagination, and spontaneity, guide you through a new musical theme each week. Each five-program series builds off a single theme ranging from composer biographies to explorations of various cultures, musical styles, and time periods.
Some of the program's themes have included Maiden Voyage: Early Compositions by Great Composers, Shakespeare and Music, week-long retrospectives on the music of Ravel, Schubert, Richard Strauss, Berlioz, Corigliano, Mozart, and Rachmaninoff, and holiday themes such as Christmas and the Cantatas of J. S. Bach.
Throughout the week's journey, Bill guides you deep into the music with care and enthusiasm. He gives historical context, illustratons at the piano, and provides a special insight that only a top-notch musicain, conductor, broadcaster, and composer could.
Bill makes exploring music fun!
