Radio
Vermont Public Radio broadcasts on 8 stations that serve Vermont and the surrounding region. Thirteen low-power, local translators* provide additonal coverage.
VPR, the news and cultural programming service, is available throughout the state.
VPR Classical, our 24-hour classical music service, is available to about 2/3 of the state. And we continue to work to make VPR Classical available state-wide.
The VPR World Channel is a collaboration with Saint Michael's College; providing the BBC World Service alongside student-produced programming.
Vermont Public Radio is working to extend its listening area as well as improve reception of our services throughout the region. We're doing so
with a mix of full power frequencies and low power translators*.

What's a Translator?
Translators are smaller, low-power frequencies designed to pick up radio signals from existing transmitters and extend them.
Translators provide better signals in small, concentrated areas that have had no-or weak - reception.
VPR's World Channel
The World Channel is a collaboration between VPR and St. Michael's College. The VPR World Channel airs at 88.7 FM in Chittenden County during selected times, every day of the week. St. Michael's College students program the station during other hours, and the schedule is subject to change along with the academic year.
