Sticky Fingers

Oh my, these are sooooooooo yummy. When my husband and I are looking for a late night snack, when we're in the mood for "something" - one of us will say "let's make sticky fingers!" Never been disappointed!! - Nancy, Chester

Cut bread slices into three strips - about the thickness any French Bread you might make Dip the strips in maple syrup, coating well. Saute bread strips in butter until they are quite brown, turning to brown both sides put enough butter in the pan to be sure they don't stick, adding more as necessary. Remove the strips and let them cool and harden on a plate. Eat plain or with vanilla ice cream.
