Even though swine flu has officially been proclaimed a pandemic, Vermont health officials say their approach to the disease won't change. The state recommends that people get sick stay home from school or work to recover.
The Vermont Department Health is reporting 17 more cases of the swine flu, including at several elementary and high schools.
Vermont health officials have significantly changed the way they respond to the swine flu outbreak. The Health Department says in most cases, it's no longer necessary to go to the doctor if you have the flu.
A new batch of swine flu cases was confirmed on Thursday by the Vermont Health Department. An additional six people tested positive for the new strain of the flu, bringing the total in the state so far to 14.
