Phillips Legacy Society

The Phillips Legacy Society recognizes VPR supporters who have made a provision for VPR in their will or other planned gift. The Phillips Society is named for two great individuals—Ray Phillips and Wes Phillips—whose leadership and philanthropic vision helped make VPR the strong organization it is today. Ray Phillips founded VPR and served as board chair from 1977 to 1991. Wes Phillips, a long-time listener and friend, endowed VPR with an extraordinary gift of $1 million, setting VPR on the path to securing its financial future.

Planned gifts (such as charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, naming VPR as a beneficiary of your retirement account assets upon your death, and bequests) enable donors to make substantial gifts in ways that complement their financial goals. Most importantly, planned gifts insure the long-term financial strength of VPR and will enable us to continue to provide programming that informs, educates and entertains future generations. Thank you to all our Phillips Society Members!

Benefits of Membership:

  1. The knowledge that you have provided for VPR's future financial well-being.
  2. Invitations to VPR events such as live performances in our performance studio.
  3. Your name listed as a member of our Phillips Society. (If you wish, you may be anonymous).

You can join VPR's Phillips Society by notifying us that you have made a provision for VPR in the form of a bequest or other planned gift. For more information contact David Warren, Manager of Special Gifts at or 1-800-639-2192, ext.188.
