Cheryl Willoughby

Host, VPR Classical

Cheryl joined Vermont Public Radio in 2004, helping VPR launch VPR Classical, its 24-hour classical music network. She came to VPR from the Classical Public Radio Network in Los Angeles, having served as Music Director and Music Programmer.

Cheryl was with the Classical Public Radio Network since 1998, and was integral in the launch and growth of the network. Her broadcast career began at KUNC-FM in Greeley, Colorado where she served as an announcer and producer for seven years. She then moved to Colorado Public Radio’s KVOD-FM in Denver, working as an announcer and assistant music director for five years.

A native of Colorado, Cheryl was a classical musician; her instrument was the French Horn. While in college, she discovered her passion for painting and graduated with a B.A. degree from the school of Performing and Visual Arts at the University of Northern Colorado. An exhibited artist, she works in watercolor and collage, with found objects, metal and paper her preferred materials.
