Host, All the Traditions
Robert is not a native Vermonter (although his mother’s family arrived in Burlington in the 1880s), but he has been a part of the local acoustic music scene for more than 35 years. He joined VPR in 1996 as host of All the Traditions.
He plays all variety of stringed and wind instruments and he claims to be chronically addicted to everything concerning the button accordion.
Robert writes music reviews for local papers, serves as a program consultant for a variety of area concert venues, and is well-known in northern Vermont as a wild mushroom hunter and chef. That's all in his free time. For the past 17 years, Robert has worked as a librarian at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington, and has served as one of the library’s Co-Directors since 1998.
