About Here & Now

Here & Now is an energetic news magazine that combines the best in journalism with intelligent, broad-ranging discussions. The fast-paced program updates the news from the morning and adds important conversations on public policy and foreign affairs, science and technology. Each hour-long program also boasts special features on the arts and culture.

Here & Now's guest roster boasts such notables as Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Halberstam, professor Anita Hill, actor and director John Malkovich, authors Isabel Allende, Jonathan Safron Foer, Marilyn Robinson, The Wall Street Journal’s  John Harwood, jazz man Sonny Rollins and actress Jane Fonda. The program began in 1998 as a local news magazine produced by WBUR/Boston. It is now distributed nationally by Public Radio International.

Robin Young brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience to the program. She's worked as a correspondent for all three major television networks, also serving as substitute host on NBC's "Today" show and co-host of the popular television program "Evening Magazine." She also has worked as a morning-drive commercial radio host and documentary filmmaker. She considers hosting Here and Now her best assignment ever.
