Eye on the Night Sky (VPR)

4:30 p.m. Weekdays

The night sky is endlessly fascinating, whether you consider it a giant connect-the-dots game or a path to better understanding our universe. VPR helps you learn more about the night sky with Eye on the Night Sky, weekdays during All Things Considered. Mark Breen hosts this 90-second star-gazing program designed to help you find and observe constellations and other objects visible to the eye in the night sky. Plus you can listen to the podcast, reference our star chart, or click on our Night Sky forecast to help orient yourself while you star-gaze.

The program is a production of the Fairbanks Museum and VPR with funding provided by the Institute of Library and Museum Services and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).

Science journalist Andrew Chaikin is an advisor to the program. Andy's a former NASA scientist, former editor of Sky and Telescope Magazine, and a regular science commentator on National Public Radio.
