Wildlife Officials Concerned About Wild Boar

Vermont Fish and Wildlife officials are increasingly worried about a new invasive species. This time it's a big one, wild boar. The invasive exotic species is found in 38 states.

And the big danger here is that they could escape captive hunting facilities in Vermont. Once loose it's feared they'll prey on ground nesting birds and endangered plants.

So the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife is asking the legislature to ban the animals. VPR's Mitch Wertlieb speaks with Scott Darling, Wildlife Program Director for the Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife.
