U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will join Vermont's top politicians at the Amtrak Train Station in Brattleboro Friday morning.

They'll take part in a 10:00 ceremony celebrating upgrades and repairs along 190 miles of track between St. Albans and Vernon on the Vermonter line.

It's one of the first major projects to be completed in a federal high-speed passenger rail initiative under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
