Welcome Center To Open In Hartford
Vermont's newest highway welcome center opens Monday. It's a major upgrade of an old rest area in Hartford.
Built with a congressional earmark, the nearly 5,000 square-foot welcome will serve travelers heading south on Interstate 91.
The project has been under construction for 18 months and cost over $4 million.
It is expected to host over 300,000 visitors in its first year of service.
The new welcome center will promote Vermont products, cultural attractions and areas of interest throughout the state.
It will have free Wi-Fi Internet access, coffee, picnic areas and rest rooms.
