Singer-songwriter Francesca Blanchard may be just 20 years old, but she brings what seems like several lifetimes of experience to her music. Blanchard was born in Europe, and traveled the globe with her family before settling in Charlotte. Now, Blanchard has released her first six-song ep, called "Songs On An Ovation." The CD features music she wrote while playing her mother's Ovation guitar.

VPR's Neal Charnoff recently sat down with Blanchard for some music and conversation in the VPR Performance Studio.
