Green Mountain Club volunteers get ready to renovate Mount Ellen Lodge, which was built in 1933.
Today the job involves not only the safekeeping of the state's footpath through the wilderness but many miles of side trails and now the entire stretch of the Appalachian Trail that runs through the state.
Will Wiquist is the GMC's executive director. Vermont Edition joined him this week in Warren where the club volunteers were helping to airlift construction materials for a renovation of the Glen Ellen Lodge.
