Ten days ago, Burlington Police officers used pepper gas and sting ball pellets on a group of demonstrators protesting outside the hotel where New England Governors and Eastern Canadian premiers were meeting. Demonstrators condemned the action as unprovoked and excessive and the police have promised both a review of what happened and a public meeting to talk about it.
Jared Carter is managing attorney of the Vermont Community Law Center. He speaks with VPR's Steve Zind about his call for answers to a number of questions about what happened both before and during the demonstration.
