Sheriff's deputies say a 29-year-old Vermont woman has been charged in New York with driving while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter in a head-on crash that killed another driver.

The Washington County Sheriff's office says Cassie Early of Arlington swerved across the center line on Route 22 around 7 a.m. Sunday in the town of Hebron, a mile from the Vermont border and 60 miles northeast of Albany. She collided with a car driven by 83-year-old Vincent Muro of West Rutland.

Muro was pronounced dead at a hospital. Early wasn't injured.

Early was arraigned in Town of Argyle Court and sent to Washington County jail on $10,000 bail.
