We're now about three-and-a-half months past the date the State of Vermont was hoping the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant in Vernon would be shut down. Federal judge Garvan Murtha ruled in favor of Entergy Nuclear in January in its lawsuit over the continued operation of the plant. Both Vermont and Entergy have placed appeals in the case.
Meanwhile, the state has been trying other avenues to block progress for Yankee, so far unsuccessfully.
VPR's John Dillon has been covering the Vermont Yankee story and gave Vermont Edition an update.
