Handbook Helps Women Understand Legal Rights In Vermont

Thursday, 02/09/12 12:50pm

Jane Lindholm, Produced by Ric Cengeri

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy called on every state to form a commission to investigate discrimination and encourage opportunities for women.  Today, Vermont remains one of just a few states whose Commission on Women has continued as part of the government.

The Commission has just issued the 6th edition of "The Legal Rights of Women in Vermont." VPR's Jane Lindholm talks with Wendy Love, the commission's executive director, about how the handbook helps people understand their legal rights and responsibilities under state and federal law.
