Julie Frost, From New Haven To A Golden Globe

When you think of artists like the Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce and Madonna, Vermont probably doesn't link to mind as connective tissue. But it's a Vermonter who has written some songs by those chart-topping world-wide mega stars. And the Vermonter is Julie Frost who's biggest achievement to date is winning a Golden Globe for her song Masterpiece, from the Madonna movie WE.

Frost spoke with VPR's Mitch Wertlieb recently from the studios of WBEZ in Chicago.
