In Tropical Storm Irene, some livestock farmers lost stored or planted feed, some lost land or had so much silt deposited on their fields that it's unusable, and a few even lost animals.

We asked Agriculture Secretary Chuck Ross for an update on farms and farmers, in particular the specific issues faced by farmers who graze their animals and who suffered in Irene.
