Windsor Could Vote On $2 Million Dam Repair

People in Windsor could be asked to pay for a $2 million project to repair an aging dam.

Residents who live below the Acutney Mill Dam on Kennedy Pond were told more than 15 months ago that the 180-year old structure was in urgent need of repair.

The town already spent $200,000 on dam repairs and Town Manager Tom Marsh says he doesn't believe the remaining costs will reach the $2 million bond, but he wants to make sure the town has enough money to complete the project.

The Valley News is reporting the repairs being considered could range from permanently lowering the water level of Kennedy Pond by 10 feet to a major reconstruction on the dam.
