(Host) Governor Peter Shumlin spent most of his state of the state speech talking about the recovery from Tropical Storm Irene.
But he also took time to boast about the strength of the state's economy.
(Shumlin) "Over the past year, new jobs in Vermont grew by 62 percent over the prior year, more than any other state in the nation."
(Host) Shumlin says Vermont's unemployment rate of five-point-three percent is among the lowest in the country.
And he says Chittenden County's rate is the fourth lowest in the country.
Shumlin says businesses across the state have hired new workers over the past year. But he also says there are too many people around the state who are struggling to make ends meet.
