Rochester Family Prepares For Post-Irene Holidays
Monday, 11/21/11 7:50am
For Vermonters hardest hit by Tropical Storm Irene, the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday comes with mixed emotions.
Jon Graham and Beth Frock of Rochester certainly have much to be thankful for, especially since Jon escaped uninjured when his house collapsed around him on August 28th while he was inside trying to rescue one of the family's pet cats, and yes, the cats escaped unharmed as well.
Jon, Beth, and their two teenage daughters don't take that for granted, but the total loss of their home of 15 years, nearly all their possessions, and the trauma of that day are still very much with them.
VPR's Mitch Wertlieb has been checking in periodically with Jon and Beth to find out how they're coping and recovering, as they try to piece their lives back together.
