Lt. Governor's Comment Stirs Recovery Politics
Friday, 10/21/11 7:04am
(Host) Vermont Democrats are taking issue with a comment by Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott that most of the Tropical Storm Irene cleanup work has been done by Republicans.
According to the conservative web site True North Reports, Scott made the comment last weekend at a Republican fundraising dinner.
He reportedly said that it may have been his imagination, but most of the people engaged in cleaning up were members of his political party.
Vermont Democratic Party Chair Jake Perkinson replied in a statement that it was Scott's imagination.
He said Vermonters of all political persuasions have been working on storm recovery.
