A section of Route 100 in the southern Vermont town of Readsboro that was heavily damaged by Tropical Storm Irene has reopened.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation says the four-mile stretch from Readsboro to the intersection of Route 8 in Heartwellville has reopened after being closed since the storm struck on August 28.
Transportation Secretary Brian Searles says the reopening six weeks later is a testament to the hard work of hundreds and hundreds of individuals.
Officials say parts of the road are gravel and more work will be needed.
