(Host) The lights are back on at Brattleboro's iconic Latchis Theater and Hotel for the first time since Tropical Storm Irene's floods.
The electricity was restored on Monday and the building was inspected yesterday.
The hotel is now ready to start accepting guests again, and the theater is set to reopen October 14th.
The Latchis Theater and Hotel is run by the nonprofit Brattleboro Arts Initiative.
The Latchis building was among the most severely damaged when the Whetstone Brook flooded downtown Brattleboro.
The Brattleboro Reformer says electrical and heating systems were destroyed and contractors have been working to get the hotel and theater back in shape.
