FEMA Extends Deadline For Towns
Wednesday, 09/28/11 5:24pm
Cities and towns in Vermont now have an extra 16 days to apply for federal disaster assistance to help them recover and rebuild after Tropical Storm Irene.
The new deadline is now Monday, October 17th.
In September, President Obama signed a state of emergency declaration for all Vermont counties, making all cities and towns in Vermont eligible to get 75 percent for repair and cleanup costs.
Vermont Emergency management officials says that this deadline extension for cities and towns won't affect the October 31st deadline for individuals applying for assistance.
