Senator Patrick Leahy will join a celebration to mark the reopening of the Moretown Post Office, which had been closed since Irene hit the state.
The 9 a.m. celebration will highlight the work of postal workers who retrieved the mail during the August 28th flooding. Not a single piece of mail was lost despite extensive flooding in Moretown village.
Leahy will present the post office and its workers with statement from the Congressional Record and a flag that was flown over the United States Capitol for display at the post office.
