The twin towers of the World Trade Center burn behind the Empire State Building in New York, Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001.
On Fridays at this time, we turn to our Regional Report, speaking with local editors and reporters about what's making news in their part of the state. This week, with the tenth anniversary of 9/11 in the news, we're looking back at how journalists covered that story in Vermont.

Roger Garrity is Executive Producer for WCAX-TV Channel 3, and he's also the anchor of Channel 3 News at noon and 5 p.m.

On September 11, 2001, he was filling in as anchor of the station's 6 p.m. news program because long-time anchor Marselis Parsons was out of town.

And Garrity admits, because of his schedule, he had to play catch-up to the biggest story of the century.
