Pittsfield Still Largely Cut Off By Road

As connections are re-established with towns cut off by floodwaters from Tropical Storm Irene, stories are emerging of how towns pulled together in the aftermath.

One of those towns is Pittsfield. Situated along Route 100, the town was separated from the rest of the state for days following the storm. Several houses were destroyed and there was one swift water rescue.

The town organized daily meetings, headcounts and barbeques.  Peter Borden is with the town's emergency operations. He says the rising water yesterday, made many people nervous.
