Monday, 09/05/11 9:53am
The Green Mountain National Forest is continuing to assess damage to roads and trails within their boundaries. And so the forest and its trails remain closed.
The Forest officials say that washouts along trails are the biggest concern, but there is also damage to roads, bridges and culverts.
And they say priority will be given to assessing the damage on the Appalachian Trail and the Long Trail. The assessment work will need to be completed before repairs can be made.
