In our ongoing series of town postcards, we visit the Northeast Kingdom community of Glover. Two hundred years ago a group of well-meaning settlers tried to divert water from a lake to run a mill on the Barton River. In a case of unintended consequences, they loosed a massive flash flood on the area, but without it the village of Glover might never have been built. Jack Sumberg tells the story of Runaway Pond.
