Teens at Grab the Torch listen to guest speakers, including noted philanthropists.
A diverse group of teenagers from different walks of life and parts of the country recently spent a week in Richmond at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps barn. They were there for a camp experience with a twist - a week-long lesson in philanthropy, how to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of others.

The traveling camp is run by a non-profit called Grab the Torch, and it's relatively new, being held in three locations across the country this year, including Vermont.

Grab the Torch was founded by Dave Aldrich, who invited VPR's Mitch Wertlieb out to Richmond on a beautiful summer's day.
