Regional Report: Middlebury Supports Solar Project
Friday, 07/08/11 10:03am
Vermont Public Radio has launched its weekly series "Regional Report." We'll be checking in with local editors and reporters about what's making news in various communities around the region.
This week we've focused on Addison County, where another large solar array has been proposed - this one for the town of Middlebury.
The 650 panel, 150-kilowatt solar array is expected to generate electricity to some 30 average-sized homes. The project is anchored by the Acorn Energy Co-op.
Reporter John Flowers of the Addison Independent has covered this story.
On VPR's Morning Edition, host Mitch Wertlieb spoke with Flowers, who says town officials welcomed the project with open arms.
