Court Hearing Set On Vermont Yankee Suit
Monday, 06/20/11 9:54am
The session before Judge Garvan Murtha this Thursday and Friday at the U.S. District Court in Brattleboro will focus on Entergy's request for a preliminary injunction blocking the state from trying to shut its lone nuclear plant down.
Vermont Yankee won an OK three months ago from the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission on its request to extend its license for 20 years beyond its original expiration date next March. Vermont so far has declined to grant the state certificate of public good the plant needs under state law to keep running.
