Vermont author Vincent Panella’s imagination is filled with shady characters: bar-flies, gamblers, tough guys and loose women. These characters fill the pages of his new collection of short stories, Lost Hearts, but they share the stage with more ordinary people going through painful moments in their lives. Those ordinary people are the emotional center of the collection. Panella speaks with VPR's Peter Biello about his book.
