Shap Smith named the House committee chairs and vice-chairs last Wednesday on the first day of the new legislative session. The Speaker of the House says that Vermonters expect their elected officials to get right to work in Montpelier.

Currently, committee members are getting to know one another and are setting their priorities for the session and the biennium. Committees will provide their road map for the next two years to the Speaker this week.
