Artist Strives To Capture Douglas's Personality In Painting

Speaking on Vermont Edition, Middlebury artist Kate Gridley, who was commissioned to paint the governor's portrait, says that Douglas's sense of humor, his love of meeting people and his uncanny ability to remember names and faces all contributed to the way she captured his likeness.

Note: Governor Douglas's official portrait will be unveiled at the state house in Montpelier on Wednesday afternoon, December 1 and at Middlebury's Town Hall Theater at 6:00 pm. In Middlebury, Governor Douglas and artist Kate Gridley will be on hand to talk about the painting's creation.
