Five years after the release of her first album, "Places In Between," Mary McGinniss offers new songs and stories in "Red Tails And The Road." The album highlights the power of McGinniss’ singing accompanied by a guitar (usually acoustic), mandolin, ukulele, thigh slaps and recordings of peepers chirping and rain falling. She speaks with VPR's Peter Biello about her music.

You can hear more of Mary McGinniss’ music Sunday, October 17th at 1 o'clock on VPR on “All The Traditions” with Robert Resnik.

You can purchase Mary McGinniss' music at Pure Pop in Burlington.
