Jay Peak Ordered To Fix Wetlands
Jay Peak Resort has been ordered to fix wetlands and streams that regulators say were harmed when a golf course was built.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says Jay Peak violated the Clean Water Act when a construction company discharged fill materials into streams.
The EPA says the streams feed into Jay Branch Brook and eventually the Missisiquoi River.
Jay Peak President Bill Stenger says the problems cropped up about five years ago. He says repairs to the streams and wetlands have been completed.
