Republican Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie is way ahead of any candidate for Vermont governor in fundraising.
Dubie announced- 24 hours before the deadline for a new round of campaign finance reports - that he had raised more than $940,000 so far.
The closest to Dubie of the five Democrats running is Secretary of State Deb Markowitz, who has raised nearly $524,000.
Senate President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin comes in next at more than $418,000. But $150,000 of that came in a check he wrote to his own campaign.
Former legislator Matt Dunne has raised nearly $268,000, state Sen. Doug Racine has brought in around $210,000, and Sen. Susan Bartlett has raised about $71,000, after saying she expected to be last in the pack in terms of fund-raising.
