Proposal Would Run Power Cable Under Lake To NYC

The Toronto-based Transmission Developers Inc. has proposed an underground transmission line project to bring electricity to power-hungry New York City. The $3.8 billion project is called the "Champlain-Hudson Power Express", and it would carry electricity from Quebec to New York City via underground cables through Lake Champlain and the Hudson River.

We learn more about the project from North Country Public Radio's Brian Mann, who has covered the issue extensively.
