Two New Hampshire projects have been awarded grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities totaling close to $334,000 dollars.
The New Hampshire Humanities Council is getting just under $84,000 for its "Humanities to Go" program.
That's a series of lectures and living history presentations on American history and culture.
And Dartmouth College is getting a quarter million dollars to create a Web site that will provide free online access to the works of Samson Occom, an 18th century Mohegan Indian intellectual leader.
The projects were among 120 recipients nationwide.
The endowment's chairman, Jim Leach, says the awards are based on the belief that democracy demands wisdom.
