There are lots of opinions about the best way to grill and barbecue.  And there's a confusing array of choices when it comes to equipment, techniques, sauces and rubs.

Marialisa Calta is a syndicated food columnist and cookbook author. She also developed the recipes for "Al Roker's Big Bad Book of Barbecue."  Chris Sargent is the Vermont representative to the New England Barbeque Society.

They spoke with VPR's Jane Lindholm about rubs, sauces, charcoal vs. briquettes and how to make the most of outdoor cooking.
