Power Outage Forces Cancellation Of Yankee Hearing
Friday, 05/28/10 6:06am
A power outage prompted the cancellation of a hearing on the Vermont Yankee nuclear plant that was scheduled for last night.
The state Public Service Board was to hold the hearing, and says the power outage caused by a storm Wednesday knocked out electricity to Vernon Elementary School in Vernon, where the hearing was planned.
The hearing was to focus on a petition by the New England Coalition and the Conservation Law Foundation to close down Vermont Yankee now instead of in 2012, when its license is set to expire.
