Last week, Adjutant General Michael Dubie updated Vermont lawmakers on the 1500 members of the Vermont Army Guard currently serving in Afghanistan. General Dubie said the mission is challenging, but the soldiers are well-trained and upbeat.
VPR's Jane Lindholm recently spoke with Colonel Will Roy of Jericho, the commander of the 86th Infantry Brigade Combat Team which includes the Vermont Guard soldiers. He spoke by phone from Afghanistan about some of those challenges for the mission.
