Vermont Men To Play Syracuse In NCAAs
Monday, 03/15/10 6:06am

The University of Vermont men's basketball team hopes history will repeat itself.
The Catamounts won the America East Conference championship on Saturday, and found out Sunday they'll face No. 1 seed Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA tournament. The West Region game is set for Friday in Buffalo, N.Y.
Vermont last made it to the tournament in 2005, upsetting No. 4-seeded Syracuse behind Taylor Coppenrath and TJ Sorrentine.
This time out, Vermont will be a No. 16 seed.
The Vermont women's team, meanwhile, is awaiting word on its NCAA Tournament pairing, to be announced Monday, after the Lady Catamounts upset Hartford this weekend 55-50 to earn their second straight America East Championship and automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
