You may recall hearing from Katherine Bramhall. We spoke with the Vermont midwife several years ago, after a natural disaster-the tsunami that ravaged Bali in December of 2004. Bramhall was headed off to work at a women's clinic set up on the Indonesian island by a woman named Robin Lim, a clinic that still operates, and now Bramhall is again teaming up with Lim and others to help women in Haiti deliver their babies safely following last month's devastating earthquake.
Katherine Bramhall came to our VPR studios to explain why a birthing clinic is so important in a place like Haiti that's thrown into sudden and unexpected chaos.
